Vic: 50 bushfires light up Victoria
Authorities warn more fires will show up today .. after lightning strikes set off 50
fires in remote areas of Victoria.
More than 400 firefighters were deployed to help contain the outbreaks in the state's
high country.
The Department of Sustainability and Environment is urging people to stay clear of
a triangle in high country .. from Bairnsdale to Erica in Gippsland .. and Benalla in
north-eastern Victoria.
Air crews scanned the region for new fires and an air crane was deployed to dump water
on another blaze in a state forest .. five kilometres north-east of Woods Point in Gippsland.
